Sports massage is a combination of Swedish massage and additional deeper more intensive techniques, for the prevention and treatment of sports injuries.

It can be used as part of a training programme to help prevent injury, or as part of a rehabilitation programme to treat injury; as part of a warm up prior to an event, or as a warm down after an event.
Sports massage is beneficial in many ways as it:

• Prevents future injury

• Improves waste removal

• Helps improve suppleness, flexibility and mobility of muscles and joints

• It improves lymph and blood circulation and assists the body`s systems in functioning at their optimum level

• It speeds up the healing process of damaged or over worked muscles, hence speeding up recovery time
